Our Tao Wellness Center offers holistic mind-body training methods that catalyze significant improvements in physical, emotional, and mental health and wellness. These practices, having been honed over ages of development and steeped in ancient philosophy, deliver the most effective results and return on the investment of your time and effort.
The purpose of Energy Yoga is to heal and strengthen the physical body, calm the emotions, and quiet the mind in order to awaken to our true nature. All classes are designed for any level of physical condition and require no previous knowledge or experience. Different class styles focus on different aspects of practice (for example, balance or core strength), but all classes utilize the following training methods:
Meridian Stretching consists of exercises and postures designed to make the body's muscles and joints flexible, allowing energy to flow freely through the body and rejuvenate the mind. By making the body supple and strong, we increase cardiovascular health and physical strength, reducing the possibility of injury and improving our immune system.
Jung Choong Breathing
These breathing postures begin to strengthen the core and accumulate internal energy in the second chakra. By mastering the art of breathing and beginning to discover the chakras, one's energy level increases, while simultaneously promoting an internally calm, centered, and focused feeling in the midst of daily life.
Relaxation and Meditation
Meditation allows one to discover the original nature of mind – pure, cosmic energy. Relaxation and meditation is of course beneficial to the physical body, but its true purpose is to allow the practitioner to begin to expand her awareness and find true peace and meaning in life by actually changing the neural pathways and wave frequencies of the brain.
TAO WELLNESS CENTER CLASSES
All classes begin with a warm up 10 minutes before starting time. The warm up consists of body tapping to reduce tension and stress by releasing blockages in the meridian channels. After each class, enjoy complimentary herbal tea to help wind down and feel rejuvinated. Note: Class content, times and instructors are subject to change without notice.
Many toxins and blockages accumulate in the intestines, which can affect all other internal organs. This class focuses on increasing blood and energy circulation in the intestines and improves elimination of waste and toxins.
Moving Meditation (Ki Gong)
Harmony of movement, breathing and awareness is needed for the effective practice of Ki Gong. In this class you will learn basic physical movements, breathing techniques and practices to increase Ki awareness. Once your body is filled with internal Ki, its vital activities and natural healing ability are maximized; muscles and cells that have hardened and lost flexibility recover their vitality and suppleness.
Come dance, jive and sweat out all your stress in a fun, invigorating, and active class that gives you a workout with a smile. Suitable for all levels, especially people with no dance experience.
Mind & Body Balance
Throughout the day our minds and bodies get out of balance . This class utilizes deep stretching, proper breathing, and posture therapy to harmonize the body and mind; creating a supple but strong body. We finish each class with relaxation and energy meditation.
Energy Core Class
This class focuses on strengthening the core and building up the internal energy of the lower body and lower chakras. We start with deep stretching to open up the energy channels and then move into excercises to build internal strength, endurance, and better focus.
After a long day or a long week, there's no better way to release tension. Yoga relaxation is a slower, more restorative class. Stretch and open the body to release physical tension and also learn breathing techniques to quiet the mind and reieve mental stress.
Tao Yoga is a physically and energetically challenging class. Expand your body and mind potential by starting to learn more challenging poses and excerises to open your body, release negative thoughts and emotions and test you physical and mental endurance.
