DahnMuDo & Tai Chi

DahnMuDo is the practice of flowing with and gathering internal energy. Its soft movements, made most famous in the form of Tai Chi, are gentle, yet powerful, making them perfect for all body types and conditions.

The Tao Wellness Center also offers classes in the well-known practice of Tai Chi. Classes are available for beginner level students and also for those who are more advanced or desire an accelerated learning course.

DahnMuDo

DahnMuDo is an energy-based, non-combative, healing martial art, with roots dating back thousands of years into Korean history. In Korean, "Dahn" means energy. "Mu" means "martial," or "limitless" and "Do (Tao)" means, "the way," or, "the ultimate truth. DahnMuDo is therefore also known as "The Art of Being Limitless". Its mind-body training methods combine martial art movements with universal energy principles to help practitioners circulate blood and energy through the body and recover the natural balance and rhythm of the body and mind. Its goal lies in training the body and mind to become one.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi trains muscles, breath, and the mind, creating one of the most comprehensive exercise and self-training systems in existence. Studies have also shown that regular Tai Chi practice yields incredible healing results, particularly for those suffering from sleep disorders, neuro-muscular complications, spinal misalignment, joint pain, and muscular dystrophy.

DahnMuDo & Tai Chi classes are separated into basic and advanced levels, allowing you to first develop the fundamentals and then work up to a higher level of training.

Musculo-Skeletal Alignment

Most physical issues in the body ultimately stem from body misalignment and disproportion. The first benefit of regular practice in Tai Chi is that your body will come into proper alignment, allowing the spine, hips, shoulders, and lower body to find their natural and appropriate configuration. This corrects most joint pain, muscles stiffness, and even can remedy sleep disorders.

Breathing control and Meditation

As your body begins to get flexible and strong you will begin to master the art of proper breathing. This improves physical health dramatically but also allows you to begin to master the mind. Emotions are more tranquil, judgment and patience improve and you start becoming the master of your life. This actually creates a state of meditation in the mind by reconfiguring the neural synapses and pathways in the brain, resulting with more self-control and inner peace.
